Always great to meet with Shane Londagin with @hickenlooper.senate.gov to talk permitting reform. @cclusa.org really appreciates his hard work negotiating a deal to build clean energy faster, ensuring certainty and community input. #CCLinDC #GrassrootsClimate
It was wonderful to meet with @bennet.senate.gov and @cclusa.org about permitting reform and forestry today. Despite big conflict in American politics, there is a bipartisan path forward to improve our energy infrastructure and beloved forests. #CCLinDC
I have trouble getting things done without a fast-approaching deadline. Glad to see Congress has the same motivational challenge. #CCLinDC
Lindsey Graham's passing is a big loss for the Senate and conservative climate advocates. He was willing to build bipartisan & pragmatic consensus on contentious issues and unafraid to speak his mind on topics ranging from carbon pricing to Donald Trump. Washington needs more leaders like Sen Graham
I didn't expect a homework assignment this month, but here's my letter to the NSF about challenges that should be taken into consideration before reorganizing NCAR: drive.google.com/file/d/1bVeS...

I just learned that the CIA took The World Factbook offline last month with no notice. Fortunately the Internet has backup copies like cia-factbook-archive.fly.dev so you can look up the population of Burundi and tell people you got it from a CIA document the government doesn't want you to see.

Great letter by the American Academy of Actuaries supporting continued operations of NSF NCAR. Insurance and reinsurance companies depend on good climate models to make reasonable long-term predictions of risk. Dismantling NCAR means higher insurance prices for Americans. actuary.org/wp-content/u...

It's important to get into Good Treble, but don't neglect the Good Bass.
I had lunch at the Dark Horse yesterday, starting a one month countdown for Boulder's most iconic bar. First visit around age 12, high school date, college meals, shenanigans with coworkers, Ranger socials. We're all gonna miss this place. boulderreportinglab.org/2026/02/15/a...
After 51 years, Boulder’s Dark Horse is closing March 14 — fans are already saying goodbye
The longtime Boulder bar will close on its anniversary as redevelopment moves forward and weekly drop-in gatherings begin.
