Saw what looked to be a wee little funnel cloud south of Stratford but my son suddenly found himself not wanting to storm chase today. He admitted he was nervous, so I didn’t push it. :)

My son and I ventured out between Stratford and Mitchell to enjoy the incoming storm this afternoon. He loves severe weather and was SO excited. The wind was tremendous and it was beautiful as the front hit. You can see it battering the car at the end of the video. #onstorm #stratford #mitchell

I think I’d give real money if storm chasers would stop yelling, “It’s about to happen right here!” when chasing a tornado and it doesn’t. Don’t tell us what you think is happening. Tell us when it DOES happen instead of trying to generate excitement.

I love that he’s now forming a stronger relationship with the fish. They’re not decoration. They’re living creatures that he sees as part of our family. He misses them in the winter. He’s joyful when they swim over to him for a pat. And they seem to have accepted that he’s not a predator. :)

Sasha and I opened up part of the pond, scooped out lots of algae, cleaned the filters and skimmer, and added more water. It’s such a joy to see the little punks again. They looked happy to see us, too! One more week of good temps and I’ll pull the entire greenhouse down until late autumn.

I think I’ll write a book called Going Clear: An Old Man’s Struggle to Drink Enough Water During The Day.

It took a 152cm/8kg crowbar to break up the ice at the base of the garage door after more than a week of snow storms with more coming. That’s about 6cm of solid ice covered by another 10cm of hard packed snow. And that was covered by 30cm of loose snow. The garage door now closes properly.
