I finished the main story of Splatoon Raiders the other night. I went to work on some post-game stuff this morning, but I’m not sure I am up for this. Maybe a bit too repetitive and grindy for me. Perhaps sometime down the line. Loved the game though 🎮😃

I reached into my Lego and Lego-adjacent backlog and made this nanoblock Coco Bandicoot 🎮😃

It is a bit repetitive, but I still find myself pretty addicted to Splatoon Raiders. It’s got a “just one more level” kind of thing going for it.

With Saros sent back to GameFly, I am going to try to rent Mouse: P.I. For Hire next 🎮😃

Played maybe an hour or two of Splatoon Raiders. It definitely lacks the more interesting level design elements of the previous entries’ singleplayer modes, but I am constantly unlocking some new weapon or upgrade or gadget and going “Oh that is cool!” or “Neat!” Should be a fun time 🎮😃

What a crazy offseason for the Sixers. I’m not even sure how this goes, but I’m excited to watch it play out 🤷🏻‍♂️🏀😃

I finished Saros. I think this has some of the all-time best third person shooting. Everything involved in that aspect (movement, weapons, enemy attack patterns, bosses, arena/encounter design, using the shield to charge power weapons, etc.) is somewhere between good and excellent.

I’m sure I’ll enjoy Splatoon Raiders, but my biggest concern was that it wouldn’t have much of the cool platforming/level designs seen in the series’ best singleplayer content and that seems to be the case. Still looking forward to it but it doesn’t look like my ideal Splatoon single-player spinoff.

I finished a playthrough of Star Fox. Nothing really special, but I liked it more than I expected to. The branching path aspect is pretty cool even if I’m not sure I’ll be going back for more. A fun rental though 🎮😃

It took me a bit, but I am totally hooked on Saros. Into the fifth area now. This game is just so cool 🎮😃

Finally got to put more time into Saros. Ended up beating the first two bosses today. The inherent repetition in this genre isn’t really my thing, but I do really enjoy the core gameplay here and am having a good time.

I got Apple TV again so I can watch the new season of Silo and catch up on some other stuff. Got really hooked on this show Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed. Tatiana Maslany who I loved in Orphan Black is the lead. I don’t usually binge shows, but I did and now I must wait for the final two episodes 🤷🏻‍♂️😂

Adding new Knockout Tours to Mario Kart World is such a simple way to add some new content, I’m surprised it didn’t happen sooner. Had fun playing through the new ones. Wish I still got together with friends a lot to play local multiplayer. Just haven’t put in as much time in World without that.

Still wrapping my head around how that Jaylen Brown trade happened, but as a Sixers fan, I’m happy it did! A lot of big moves in the East and I am not sure how to stack these teams at the moment (though I still would have the Knicks at the top). Should be an exciting seeding race in that conference.

Six months in, do you guys have a favorite game from 2026 so far? Kind of a jumble at the top for me. Probably between RE9, Pragmata and 007: First Light. The main Care Center section with Grace in RE9 I think is the high point of those. Backlog GotY for me so far would definitely be Balatro.

I started up Saros. Pretty cool so far. Has a unique feel compared to other third-person shooters. Seems to have a lot more permanent progression than Returnal which is something I sort of need in a roguelike 🎮😃

With Lego Batman sent back GameFly’s way, I think I will try to rent the new Star Fox next. Never really played one before 🎮

I got the platinum on Lego Batman and am now installing Saros. Planning to dive into that tomorrow 🎮😃

I finished the new Lego Batman game. Definitely feels like Arkham-lite, but as someone who likes and misses that formula, it was still a really good time. I liked getting to see how all the side characters played and the neat ways they combined different movie storylines into one big narrative.

My Most Anticipated Games of the Rest of 2026 (probably) 🎮😃 -Control: Resonant -Ocarina of Time Remake -Splatoon Raiders -Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse -Rayman Legends Retold -Wolverine Not sure on the order other than Control at the top. I’m sure I’m forgetting some indies. Need to research that 🤔

A Gaming Update 🎮 -Mostly been playing Lego Batman. Very fun but a game that I mostly play in small bursts. -Started Mina the Hollower. Not feeling it yet (seems a bit more Souls than Zelda so far). I am hoping it grows on me. -Sent back 007: First Light to GameFly and Saros is now on the way.

This new Lego Batman game is definitely my favorite Lego game I’ve played so far. It really is sort of a simpler version of the Arkham formula, but with some fun twists of its own. Enjoying this more than I expected to 🎮😃

Not sure I can recall a team being so starkly different between the first and fourth quarters as this Spurs team in the Finals. Incredible playoff run by the Knicks. I had a lot of fun watching this NBA season and I’m going to be missing my sports so much until football comes back!
