One of my coworkers keeps talking up this whole manufactured controversy and when I told him there were no trans women in the WNBA he said there was one. The one he’s referring to is retired and had her breasts surgically removed towards the end of her career. That’s it.

What do you do when you've launched a moral panic about transgender athletes in the WNBA, but there has never been an active trans player in the league? Simple: you start a conspiracy theory about every single woman on the court.

At the end of July Munetaka Murakami had a .935 OPS, roughly keeping steady with where it was when he hit the IL in late May (.938). His .664 August OPS has dropped his season line by 72 points, is his first calendar month under .900, and couldn’t be coming at a more inopportune time.

The White Sox are currently on pace to draw 1.993 million fans this season, but with their AL Central lead attendances have been accelerating, meaning they will almost certainly surpass 2 million and possibly even 2.1 million. Either way, they are likely to post their best attendance since 2010.
