Mainer by birth. Logger by trade. With your help, Senator for the people. http://www.JacksonForMaine.com

I join union nurses in calling for Debora Kapisha's immediate release from ICE detention. To those who can make it, I encourage you to join Maine union nurses for an emergency demonstration today at 10:30 AM outside Maine Medical Center in Portland.

I’ve learned through my union brothers and sisters at the Maine State Nurses Association that one of their colleagues, Debora Kapisha, has been detained by ICE. ICE plans to transfer her to Louisiana, where she’ll be even farther from her family, legal counsel, and support systems.

Debora is a medical-surgical nurse at Maine Medical Center. Her colleagues describe her as an amazing nurse and a kind, supportive coworker. On top of it all, she is legally authorized to live and work in this country. She should be at work today assisting Maine patients and their families. Instead, she’s being held captive by the Trump administration.

This is what happens when a rogue agency is granted free license to carry out a racist, authoritarian agenda without restraint. We must abolish ICE, not give them tens of billions of taxpayer dollars to bring terror to our streets.

I join the Maine State Nurses Association in demanding Debora’s immediate release from ICE detention, and I call on Maine Medical Center to take immediate steps to formally sponsor her for permanent residency.

I cannot imagine what Debora is going through right now, but I’m inspired by the swift action of her union. To those who can make it, I encourage you to join Maine nurses for an emergency demonstration this morning outside Maine Med. Solidarity forever.

Solidarity forever.

Susan Collins always finds the money to pay for tax breaks for billionaires. But when our rural maternity wards are shuttering across Maine, she tells us we're on our own. Together, we can defeat her, we can save Miles Labor & Delivery, and we can create a state worthy of those who call it home.

We’re told we can’t afford to keep labor and delivery care in rural Maine. But Susan Collins sure seems to always find the money to give billionaires another tax break. MaineHealth must vote to keep Miles Labor & Delivery open. Lincoln County deserves better. We all do.

Protestor holding sign overhead that reads: “DON’T CUT THE CORD. SAVE MILES MATERNITY!” Troy Jackson speaking to a crowd of demonstrators gathered in front of Portland City HallA sign that reads: PATIENTS OVER PROFITSA crowd of demonstrators looks on. Signs read: “CLOSING L&D IS DANGEROUS, and “RURAL MAINERS DESERVE BETTER THAN 2ND CLASS CARE”

I’m a fifth-generation logger and the son of a public school teacher. My dad worked 16-hour days, and it still wasn’t enough. Susan Collins didn’t stand up for working people then—and she certainly isn’t standing up for Mainers now. Watch our first ad:

Susan Collins promised she'd only serve two terms. She made that promise back in the fall of 1996. Since then, she's become a rubber stamp for the wealthy elite in this country. She's voted with Donald Trump 96 percent of the time, crushing Mainers in the process. In November, we will defeat her.

Susan Collins helped Donald Trump slash Medicaid to the tune of $990 billion. She was instrumental in the overturning of Roe vs. Wade. She's been a rubber stamp for Trump's authoritarian, billionaire-first agenda that's crushing working class Mainers. In November, we will defeat her.

Susan Collins handed Trump a blank check for his illegal war in Iran, jacking up costs at home and sinking us into another bloody conflict with no end in sight. In November, Mainers won't forget.

The stakes are high in November, but the mission is simple. It's about making sure we have a government that cares about working class people. That means passing Medicare For All, taxing the billionaires, and standing up to Trump's authoritarian agenda. Solidarity forever.

In '98, my fellow loggers and I blocked the Canadian border to fight back against billionaire landowners trying to depress our wages. Susan Collins was my Senator back then. She sided with the big landowners over us. This fall, working people will once again fight back - and send Collins packing.

Susan Collins tells us everything is fine. But we know better. Working Mainers are getting screwed by a rigged system, a system she’s helped Trump and her billionaire backers create. In November, we will defeat her. It’s the honor of a lifetime to be your nominee for U.S. Senate.

Susan Collins lied to Mainers. She helped destroy Roe v. Wade, she advanced Trump's $990 billion Medicaid cuts, and she gave ICE $70 billion continue its rogue terror campaign. Together, we will replace her with a Senator who gives a damn about the working people of this country.

Washington is full of Big Pharma and Big Insurance lobbyists dedicated to blocking Medicare For All. Maine is full of organized, working class people who understand that healthcare is a human right. I know whose side I’m on.
