Grounding and De-Escalation Training to Protect Our Vote
The regime now in office is afraid of what the voters might choose this fall. That is why they are trying to prevent people from voting through a variety of strategies, including scare tactics. Fortunately, there are things we can do to inoculate ourselves and counteract their anti-voter agenda. Together we’ll build skills and confidence during this experiential training. Led by Eileen Flanagan who has over thirty years of experience leading workshops and trainings. She was trainings coordinator of Choose Democracy, which trained 10,000 people in nonviolent strategies to prevent a coup in the summer of 2020. Eileen co-wrote the 2025 workbook used by peacekeepers across the United States. Her most recent book, Common Ground: How the Crisis of the Earth is Saving Us from Our Illusion of Separation, includes lessons from the climate movement, where she has held leadership roles in three grassroots campaigns. A first-generation college student, she earned a BA from Duke and an MA from Yale. Dinner and drinks will be provided, along with all training materials. You just need to bring yourself!
