i am seeing alot of Women on bsky & twt talk about their experiences of misogyny in splat/comp. i think that is good. However, i find the overwhelmingly defeated tone of the conversation concerning. Nothing is set in stone & we can be the change we want to see here. I wanted to add my perspective.

If you're a cis man I promise you that you don't know how bad it is. Y'all keep doing shit that is manipulative, dismissive, and otherwise abusive. And men do it so often that we as non-men end up practicing learned helplessness. Stop assuming that we've "gotten passed it" and do better.

idk how much of the discussion on twitter about how comp players treat women and the misogyny in this community has spread here, but a lot of the people i see in replies offering their "support" have also been perpetuating or allowing their friend's misogyny behind closed doors.
