Arguably the Commodore 64 SID audio chip was the most iconic ever produced, built from the perspective of a musical instrument designer. Having emulated the Atari POKEY audio for Missile Command on the BBC Micro this is up against quite some constraints so can only marvel at this early attempt.
Ever wanted to play Commodore 64 SID tunes on a BBC Micro without needing additional hardware? Having seen similar attempts on the VIC-20, Atari 800 and ZX Spectrum I thought I'd give it a go. Early days, unstable, and sound fidelity needs to be improved, but it works! (sort of...). SoftSID v0.01 🔊

Tardis has landed. Looking better than ever with a full restoration. Also has a new Dolby Atmos sound option by @markayresrws.bsky.social that sounds great even on my limited system and very challenging audio area.
Testing Atari Missile Command on the BBC B, keyboard and joysticks (analogue/switch) okay. Some refinements to be back-ported into the existing Electron version. Trackball uses a SmallyMouse2 and Nulea M512. Heart stopping moment when a duff USB lead decided to melt! Thankfully no damage was done.
Never knew there was such a thing as amateur rocketry until I saw this featured on the front cover of Countdown. Sure wish there had been something like this near me when I was growing up back then.

As part of Gerry Anderson Day 14/04/2026 The Secret Service is getting a Blu-ray release. Poor uptake of the show by ITV regions meant that it wasn't until The Secret Service Convention, Griffin Hotel, Leeds 30/10/1988 that I got to see the show nearly twenty years later. youtu.be/G_7wM-jTh2s?...

This has the makings of quite an original game on the Acorn Electron. Watch it and let a shiver run down your spine at the very simple yet highly effective animation on display.
Creepy Crawlies WIP (Acorn Electron). Look at the poor little guy completely lost in this infested maze. If only there was a way to defend himself against the onslaught of creepy crawlies 🤔 (Also, I am trying self-imposed chunky pixel art 🫣 )
Issue 3 of this great comic from yesteryear. This really fired up my imagination back in the day.

UFORIA, 18/06/1988 London Some photos of the convention guests for this over-subscribed one-day event organised by Fanderson. George Sewell, Dolores Mantez, Shane Rimmer, Derek Meddings and Ed Bishop. I have read that this was the only convention that Derek Meddings attended.
Second great issue in newsagents, four more stamps to cut out, lick and stick to the wall chart on my 70's bedroom wall. Twenty years ago I managed to buy an unused wall chart/stamps from the first 3 issues. A few years ago, issue 5 stamps turned up. Very rare.
