We really need serious actions NOW to fight help fight climate. We need to stop playing nice. Am I saying we need to start crossing the lines of legality, or morality? No, but I'm also not saying we should take that off the table. What is the survival of us and our planet worth? #ClimateChange
I'm old enough to clearly remember the 90s. The climate WAS more balanced and less volatile. We most definitely felt and talked about the effects of climate change. Don't let them lie about how the climate has always been like this, or that the discussion is new. #ClimateChange
I'm not anti-capitalism, but I do believe that if it wants to continue existing, it needs to be leashed. They need to be removed permanently from politics, forced to pay for damages and repairs to the environment and communities, submit to corporate busting. Any that don't are punished severely.
Can we call this current form of American capitalism "Wendigo capitalism?" Referencing the fact it's a spirit of greed and insatiable hunger. The more it eats, the bigger it gets, and the more it needs to eat. I feel that's an apropos comparison to corporations.
AI maybe be able to surpass humans in specific areas, but only in the same way a car can move faster than a person. All the processing power we could ever produce could never make generative AI sentient. Stop listening to fear mongers and billionaires over selling it.
Giant orbital mirrors to reflect the sun back to earth at night? Dumbest thing imaginable. Whatever problem they think they're solving can be fixed better other ways. If they put up more than one, humanity deserves to go extinct.
Saw The Odyssey. Very good. Mythologically speaking, pretty accurate. The inclusion of xenia (Zeus' law) adds a layer often left out.
I will always prefer wild spaces to human altered ones. I do get tired of people, especially wealthy, talking about how they can improve it, but all they do cut down trees, dig up the land, and put up ugly structures.

When Trump finally bites the dust, one of two are likely going to happen. Possibly both. 1. The movement collapses overnight without their figurehead. 2. They'll pretend he's still alive. Posting online and the like, but his lack of public appearance will be a huge tell.

Yes, a new fan is a real fan. A casual fan is a real fan. Because anyone who truly enjoys a thing at all is a fan. Now, if you've invested so much of yourself that you start gatekeeping, making demans of creators, never stop complaining about the thing, you loose the right of to be called a fan.

Had a nightmare with a Water Karen. A large Karen that floated and moved around as if she were swimming underwater. I assure you that she was the most terrifying part of a dream about people trying to burn me alive for being in a silly dinner theater they had a problem with.

My great great grandfather (dad's mom's mom's dad) was Native American. And that sentence is the amount I know. I have no intention of going around, pretending to be indigenous. That experience has never been my own. But it is a part of my family's story I'd love to know more about.
AI is bad. But people REALLY need to stop misrepresenting the threat it poses. It can never become sentient, it is not Skynet. It is a tool that is being misused. It is pattern recognition software. No AI can even come close to the least capable human mind. Stop the scares, focus on the real issues.
There's one rule, and it's not had to follow: "NEVER trust a politician. Especially ones you like." They are either lying to get elected, or become corrupted or leashed by the system. The few honest ones need to be treated with at least some mistrust to keep them straight.

Communal showering, not dissimilar from the Starship Troopers scene, should be the norm. Even people who consider themselves inclusive and tolerant are way to comfortable with walls of separation and shame. There is no reason respectful adults can't be vulnerable and comfortable with other adults.
