Exploring generative art through code, rules, and randomness. I'm researching and crafting pieces, starting with Turtletoy prototypes and building my own web app. Next: pen plotter prints and a small exhibition. Prototype source: turtletoy.net #GenerativeArt #CreativeCoding #PlotterArt #Exhibition

3D Line Art Engine: Skyscrapers
I have ported most of "ln, The 3D Line Art Engine" by Fogleman (@FogleBird) to javascript, so it can be used on Turtletoy. Not all code is ported and not all code-paths are tested: probably there are still (a lot of) bugs left. This Turtle is a port of the example: https://github.com/fogleman/ln/blob/master/examples/skyscrapers.go

Fork of https://turtletoy.net/turtle/68ef188d1f - removed the PoissonDisc usage - added the grid that is used in this turtle https://turtletoy.net/turtle/abbc1557a1 by @reinder This grid allows two shapes; squares / hexagons, which are randomly spit and distorted. Examples: - Hexagons: https://turtletoy.net/turtle/deca53a32d#seed=1,grid=15,randomDistortion=0,spacing=0.15,splitChange=0,baseShape=1,lightAngle=2.1 - Squares: https://turtletoy.net/turtle/deca53a32d#seed=1,grid=15,randomDistortion=0.09,spacing=0.15,splitChange=0.41,baseShape=0,lightAngle=2.1

Mushroom Gills 2
A circle of points connected by springs. They are constrained to a slowly growing circle. When they get too far from their neighbors, they split. Each point leaves a line behind as it moves.
