In the 1980's Vereslav Eingorn en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veresla... always finished in the top of the USSR championships. Perhaps 1988 was relatively his best achievement considering the very strong field. You can see him analyzing with Karpov after round 8 (3rd photo). Rest in peace. #chess

August 1968, Euwe & Flohr visit the Georgian women championship in Dusheti won by Alexandria with 11½/13. In september Flohr was to be arbiter in the candidates' final Spassky-Korchnoi in Kyiv, in December Alexandria became USSR-champion again. Euwe became FIDE-president May 1970. #chess
