The Community First team in #newwest REALLY seems invested in protecting Metro Van from criticism. It's a real disservice to residents and a bit embarrassing. We know Fontaine is a media hound and a provocateur but Metro Van has real issues that should be addressed

Nadine Nakagawa in #newwest is the only political candidate I've ever seen TRULY live her values in the political spectrum. An absolutely 100% authentic politician who did EXACTLY what she said she would do and was then, to be honest, kinda tossed aside by the #NDP You don't have to agree to admire.
# newwest Pride going from "ACAB and we don't feel safe around them!" to "Uh...maybe we should get the cops to help keep us safe" in just a year, is quite the plot twist Some very confused people on that board of directors, it's a shame.
The NWP showing up at #newwet Pride and faking involvement was tacky.
Any money you give cops or ICE for things like “deescalation training” will just be used to fund more violence. We have known this for YEARS.

Admirable work here by the mayor and council in #newwest, BUT, without serious discussions about the NDP subsidies for oil and gas companies, this seems futile. The Community First association with the NDP has absolutely drug them under water.

You know #newwest, even now I'm just not seeing any criticisms of the NWP from Community First, that are going to resonate with voters.
This is so true in #newwest and I'm sadly disappointed that none of "environmentally conscious" council on either side will touch this with a 10 foot pole

I get what Mr. Congdon is saying here, and he's correct, but I'd argue we, in #newwest, and every other city, have already devolved. Anyone remember "Together New West Vs The Downtown BIA" or "Anonymous NDPers on Reddit vs Anyone that disagrees with the mayor"

Fomenting "us" (*his* taxpayers) vs "them" (*our* staff), all while earning *our* $. This we must resist.

The property tax discussion in #newwest is not a winnable one for Community First. Talk to the right CF councillor and even they admit taxes are too high.
Sigh... the state of #newwest politics. Facts don't matter and people vote based on emotion. "Canspice" is right, this is the equivalent of the NWP saying, "If we get elected we'll have regular council meetings!!!"
