“Hey, at least you did not wake up in a trash again.”

You don't survive the arenas of Zygerria by being nice. Now get up or I'll put you down for good!
She chuckled, eyes wide in surprise. “Wow, really? I didn’t take you two for such… serious types. But how did you end up doing hired jobs? Unless you’re an advanced assassin droid or you have an organic partner, droids aren’t usually taken seriously in that line of work…”
She smirked, and pulled out two sawed off doubled barreled scatter guns “These babies! I like to get close and personal!”
"Oh neat, I don't get paid well honestly, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying some bantha steaks every now and then. Sooo.... what's your weapon of choice?"
“From my experience, it’s not fate but your actions that get stuff done. How did you manage to not be turned into tin cans? You ran away? Blasted your way out heroically?”
“Funny how that doesn’t involve you doing a single thing. You could start a cantina brawl if you’re bored.”
“Name’s Alema. Mercenary, bounty huntress, enforcer, bodyguard and all that stuff that pays well for hired muscles.”
"Oh no man, I've been beat up enough in the past week. I'm down for like idk drinks and maybe some snacks. Oh and my name is Chosung, bounty hunter and local idiot."
She raised an eyebrow, surprised by not impressed. “Really? I thought the retirement plans for veteran battle droids was the scrapyard after you lost the war.”
She smirked and flexed a big arm muscle. “I do! I could teach you a few things if you want.”
"Bruhh you were a slave AND a gladiator? That's sad but also wow u must fight good. I can't fight well."
“I did not say at the same time though. But some people might… disappear soon… one after another…” she said with an ominous grin.
She cracked her knuckles. “A lot of EX someone you mean…”
She chuckled. “Well, maybe the slavers who put me in the arena must have fed me well enough then. Guess they were happy with the show I put on back then.”
"No way that's totally fake news... No one should be over 2m tall... okay I'm kidding, but i'm usually the tallest dude in the room. I don't know what was in that Arkanian water."
“What?! You ever found someone who could beat someone up like I do?!”
“I dunno. I’m just built different I guess. Or it’s just other people are too short.”
@twilekmercenary.bsky.social why are you tall?
“Not paying me enough for my services for a start.”
“You might have a window of opportunity for the two seconds of confusion the imperials will get when they see you.”
She smiled gently, leaned down due to her height to be at her head level, and teasingly patted Maddie's. “I promise.” She said with a big smile.
That seemed to win Alema some points. Madary, small, quiet thing she was, was comforted by mercy, and sought nothing in death. She had spent enough time within its dark myre. "Promise?"
She might not be special to others, but to Alema, she is. Killing that guy would only make a mess. She wants to teach him a lesson, so no other twi’lek falls prey to him. “Look, I’ll try to talk first, and I’ll go easy on him if he doesn’t listen. Don’t want him to hurt you or anyone else again.”
She shrank in on herself even more. Now she may have just got a guy killed... She shouldn't have said anything, what was a bruise? She'd had more bruises than skin before. This was nothing. It's not like anyone should get hurt over her. She's no one special... "... I dunno... Maybe..."
If there is one thing Alema hates, it’s people taking advantage of her kind. For some reason, few people tried to treat her like they do the others. “Really? Is he still there? Because I want to… talk to him…” she said ominously while cracking her knuckles.
Madary froze for a second. This was the wall. She had been taught that asking for help results in nothing but a yank on her lekku. "... There was a guy... At the club. He wanted to dance, we did, he uhm... Tried some stuff, I had issues and he hit me and left."
She frowned, finding the quick pace of her reply worrying. "Really? Their hands must be the size of rancor claw then. Or they were more than just handsy..." She leaned closer, and placed her hand on Maddie's shoulder gently. "You know it's always worth it with me."
"Nothing." Maddie said it far too quickly. "Nothing important. Handsy clients at the club, I promise. It's not worth it."
Alema turned toward her, her eyes widening in surprise when seeing the sorry state Madary is in. Her surprise turned to anger quickly, though not toward Maddie, but toward whoever did this to her! “You alright? What happened this time?” She asked, a mix of worry and vengeance in her voice.
The sound of Madary's boots on the boarding ramp told the story of how her day went. If she had some pep, some speed, everything was golden. But some days, like today, were slower, like she weighed more. She turned on her lights to reveal the reader, watching her as she came home. +
“Should have hired some private security. There would only be little bits of your spider left.”
She nodded, and cracked her nuckles together "Alright then, I see! Glad to see you consider me a worthy opponent! So, where are these rustbuckets you need me to roughen up a bit to teach them how to fight?" she asked rather ecstatically.
"For the most part yes. But you need data to use for said programming." "I have a few set aside just for this reason. They learn, adapt and change based on opponents. But they need worthy opponents. Otherwise, they're no better than their last fight."
Alema was clearly surprised by such an unusual offer, but seemed just as curious as well. "Training droids? I thought they only needed programming... but that sounds fun!" She then chuckled "I just hope you're ready to repair them if I... get a bit too rough with them..."
"Hm, not quite." Keira shook her head with a chuckle. "I need combat trainers. Specifically to help train droids. Get them up to par, as it were."
Alema raised an eyebrow, intrigued by the offer as she leaned down closer to the shorter Chiss. "Really? And what is it? Need some muscles even your fancy armor can't match?" she asked teasingly.
"I can understand that." She chuckled softly. "Actually... I do have a potential contract if you're up for it." Keira tilted her head with a seeming grin to her visor.
"They pay well, that's all I need from these slimy slugs." The large mercenary then shrugged "Here and there. If it pays well I don't say no. More often the target doesn't put much of a fight, and it's not as fun when the contractor wants them alive and not roughed up a bit."
"One of the hardest arenas there. Getting the Hutts to anything is difficult alone." Keira shrugs softly. "You surely must do some sort of bounty hunting, no?"
She nodded, as if it wasn't an issue. "Fair enough. I mean, when I... left the arena, I spent a lot of time doing... businesses too, in Hutt space. Not much of a fair fight I had back then, know what I mean?" She said, implying doing dirty criminal work for the Hutts.
"I suppose that is correct, there my tall friend." She chuckles softly. "I'm more of a bounty huntress and a business woman though. Sorry to disappoint. My kind can't exactly risk fights much anymore."
She shrugged as well. "That's why it's better to not pick a side, or you get in trouble with the wrong people." She then chuckled, and crossed her arms "Well, it's not a good fight if it's clean. Gotta get your hands dirty, one way or another. All that matters is to come out alive."
"Different priorities for my people as of late. Much of us in hiding." She shrugged softly. "But some of us survive by being in the light. Arena fighting isn't my strong suit though. I don't fight clean."
With their size difference, Alema had to look down at hte blue woman whose head barely reached her chest. "You make quite the appearance, with how you stand out with that armor. I was worried your people have gone extinct or something. Made for a good challenge in the arena."
Feeling the heavy hand shake, Keira did feel quite tiny in comparison. Her 5'3 stature diminutive in comparison. "My kind tend to be rare. But I try to make appearances." The Mando chuckled softly.
