Completed another game, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, ten years in the making. I bought this game in 2016 shortly before we decided to backpack around the world and priorities shifted. As a big fan of Metal Gear, this has been a gap in the canon for me. Not anymore. Loved D-Dog.

I was curious about “have you seen the price of RAM” and looked up my last RAM purchase. In June 2024 (~1.5 years ago) I paid $104.99 for 32GB of DDR5. Today, it’s $379.99. Yikes. And I bought two of these things for a total of 64GB. 6/2024: $209.98 12/2025: $759.98 WTF, that’s crazy.

I'm thinking about making a Link's Awakening DX style game to tell a queer story, mostly as a hobby activity. I've been doing some research and I'm a bit torn between using GBDK (more authentic) and Godot (more modern / marketable). Anyone got thoughts?
