"America's favorite baseball history podcast."™ We stan Don Stanhouse, Jay Johnstone, Moe Drabowsky & Sabrina the Teenage Witch. If you like real stirrups, baseball cards & pop culture you'll probably dig us.

On the heels of finding out PCA doesn't believe Babe Ruth actually existed (the reasoning is even stupider than the statement if possible), here's PCA doing a very Ruthian thing. Getting thrown at twice, didn't charge, just hit a piss-missle on the next pitch.

Good old #29, Rickey Henderson, doing Rickey Henderson things even in his MLB debut. Today in 1979. Even a feet-first slide into first. It was a rough plane landing that convinced him to start sliding headfirst. Besides my wife, Rickey is the only person I think about every single day. I miss him.

I long ago turned off the Mets game for mental health reasons. But here's the John Kruk clip he was talking about from Aqua Teen Hunger Force. The likeness is spot on. Spot on! And yes, I do have all of these on hand just for such an occasion. Please share!

1924 Negro League WS. On my shortlist of games I would like to go back in time to be able to witness in person. Man, what would the history books look like (baseball & otherwise). Happy Juneteenth to everybody, even those who pretend it doesn't exist & are actively trying to send us back there.

1937 NL MVP voting. How was it this close? The Cubs almost won the pennant, but I don't think managing pitchers or framing were really taken into consideration then (sarcasm). Ducky almost doubled every offensive counting stat (triple crown!). Legit, I would like to know how? Politics?

Alex, or Ken, I'll take 'The easiest question ever asked on Jeopardy, ever, like by a mile, seriously, could it be easier, like are we even trying anymore, really, I remember when this show used to be hard' for $800, please.

Both Mickey Mantle & Willie Mays were banned from baseball in the 1980's for working as greeters at casinos. A long way from today's game & betting, yeah? But you've gotta make a dime somehow, so here's The Mick & Say Hey teaming up with Blue Bonnet margarine. Seems like a natural fit?

A black-and-white commercial photo of baseball icons Mickey Mantle and Willie Mays questioning where it went all wrong. Both men are wearing frilly, historical bonnets tied under their chins while holding ears of corn at a dinner table packed with steak, salad, and margarine.

Jackie Robinson grew up in a diverse Pasadena neighborhood, & when one of those neighbors, his baseball teammate Shig Takayama, was incarcerated at Manzanar with his family, the Robinsons helped take care of their home. For my new column, a story of the worst & best of America through baseball. 🗃️

Considering History: Jackie Robinson, Japanese Americans, and the Best of American Sports and Community | The Saturday Evening Post

Jackie Robinson can help us better remember a largely forgotten teammate and childhood friend, Shigeo “Shig” Takayama, and the connections between African American and Japanese American baseball.

Holy shit! Who cares?!? The season has started, nobody cares about what heart attack any team is serving. Nobody. We're all too busy trying to figure out what network we have to watch to see our team that MLB clearly doesn't want us to see. Not to mention, this 'thing' looks disgusting.
