Finished Basilica: The Splendor and the Scandal: Building St. Peter's. Excellent book, very readable, lively and energetic. I wish I had read it in advance of my visit to St. Peter's last year.

This just arrived!! I’m a bit semi-obsessed with Venice and Venetian history these days, prob because of a new book idea I’m going to pursue once the current WIP is done. Already pulling together preliminary research and background. Might need to go back to Venice for some research!!

1/5: I recently collaborated with Welsh reconstruction artist Robert Gapper on reconstructions of Nassau, Bahamas, showing how the settlement might have looked around 1715, during the Golden Age of Piracy. The project was well researched, although admittedly we had to work with limited evidence.
