So FRESH KILLS is really good. An intimate, personal mob story that shows how crime is a cancer. No flash, no appeal, just hollow promises. Really dug it.

There is an actress who shows up in the final 15 minutes of DISCLOSURE DAY and gives an absolutely astonishing performance. I can't stop thinking about it.

New email from the WGA today. Glad to see them finally recognizing that it's a MASSIVE problem that our health/pension caps haven't been raised in 20 years. But it would have been nice to have gotten this obvious need taken care of when we were on strike....

Seems that SAG got a bump in their per-project cap on pension/health contributions. The cap for writers hasn't been adjusted in almost 20 years (!) and is a big problem for feature writers who can lose healthcare while working for years on the same project.

TRAIN DREAMS just devastated me. It may be my favorite of the year.

A large percentage of the Oscars' existing audience has no idea how to watch YouTube on their TVs and aren't the type to watch a 3 hour show on their phone or computer. I'm assuming that the Academy thinks this will bring in younger audiences, but...

The per-project cap on health plan contributions hasn't been raised since 2004(!). A writer can work YEARS on a project, but not a dime over the 250k income cap triggers any health contributions or coverage eligibility. Obviously and painfully overdue as a regular adjustment tied to inflation.
