then i spent 5 hours putting together an updated version of striders cube. i had EXACTLY enough of a sleeve i had lying around, which felt pretty fortuitous. productive day!

keynote was sick. loved everything i saw tbh. great aesthetic, cool mechanics, great news about organized play and future products. always thought i would not care about shadow necromancer but malice is SO COOL. zombie decay -> blood debt corpse that is hard to play -> go again when played??

alright, hit credits on "the message from deep space" in about 31 hours of playtime incredible game, definitely my game of the year so far, easy 10/10. the late game was a lil frustrating but i think the plan is to add more hints to smooth it out, fortunately be prepared for a big cry 😭

i love fighting games, but i’m cursed. my passing familiarity with them means none of my friends wanna play because they think i’ll win all the time (i won’t but they don’t believe me). but my social anxiety means i don’t wanna play with random people i don’t know so i don’t play them ;-;

today officially marks 1 full year of unemployment, minus some occasional part-time work to help get patch builds out the door back at my old job, which i am very grateful for. it's so tough finding a job in this market ;-; i feel like i've branched out pretty far too but just no bites

about 40% done with the game at ~10 hours played, i think this is easily my game of the year so far. despite functionally being a linear book of puzzles, it feels so natural and immersive, and the pacing is perfect; stretches of slow, thinky bits punctuated by bombshells and new toys
