Our third session focused on opportunities for students & research technical professionals through UKSAF, @uk-itss.bsky.social & the NTPMI. Many thanks to Kay Doncom & Polly Greensmith for their talks. The session wrapped up with Keith Butler from UCL on AI methods for materials discovery.
Our second session sees Karen Syres from the University of Lancashire talking on ionic liquid modified perovskites, followed by Daniel Lee from the University of Manchester describing work using NMR for surface analysis.
Our first session of the day sees Geoff Thornton from UCL speaking on electrolyte interfaces with oxide surfaces, followed by Johannes Lischner from Imperial College with a talk on modelling core electron binding energies at metal oxide surfaces.

We are delighted to announce that Sebastiaan Van Nuffel has been awarded the Vickerman Prize for his extensive track record in mass spectrometry imaging, specifically time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (ToF-SIMS), and its application in biological and medical research. Congratulations!
The final talk of the Summer 2025 UKSAF meeting is from Anna Kotowska of the University of Nottingham. She is presenting her work on the chemical analysis of biofilms with Orbi-SIMS.
Our final session begins with a talk from Clare Newell from the The Francis Crick Institute and NPL with her latest work on cryo-orbiSIMS.
Next up we have Marcus Rohnke describing work on hard carbon battery anodes. Following this will be vendor presentations from SPECS Surface Nano Analysis GmbH (Paul Dietrich), IONTOF (Matthias Kleine-Boymann) and Scienta Omicron (Ad Ettema).
