made Path of Achra, currently developing Lands of Achra, dark fantasy and pixel art, contemplating the vanished earth https://pathofachra.com/
the grim residue of the tyrant age, dominated by rats with raider-vassals
The card game I made a few weekends ago arrived, the rules for it literally came to me in a dream so this is mostly a test case for how the drawings look printed. Playable though
finally managed to win the recent age by massing these giants fully decked out with bladestone coins, while dorok slowly grew their armor which scaled with earth-related labor acts
importantly these can vivify the unlock messages
injured my back badly so getting caught up on the countless flavor-briefs

developing sects around random achra enemies; the taggla-worms are envisioned as fearful "psychic dandruff" of a greater being, now bestowed with followers and walking-forms
doing the final stretches of content design for what is needed at minimum for something played (by other people) --- here are some mystic salamanders of agara and a hobgoblin offshoot devoted to the bladed stone of bergzra, a mountain-dwelling child of dorok
need to make the game look at the most upgraded city so the end screen can have a line like presided over the ruby throne of matchless melnibone
Had a fervent dream about a card game and spent the weekend making it. Sent it off to be printed so it shall not be a distraction haha (this has happened before)
Unfortunate urge to paper doll the equipment and fantasize how a game could use this
found another older one, I like the idea that in Achra there are many Utnapishtims
I hate AI. I hate how it's exasperated every creative industry's already tenuous path to stability. Artists have to grovel to prove their worth, while the machine that swallowed their creations insists on the artists' uselessness. How human dialogue and connection has been reduced to output.

been getting interested in the frame of translated aphorisms as a poem style
was alerted to the word "falciform" and got excited, in a way this is the totality of my output
want to have a number of these ages so the demo feels like it can be progressed through
When the abyss discarded the blind beasts of its depth in the drawing-back of itself, the folk were saved by Bagha and the caravan of heroes
This review may be better than the game itself. I will keep reading it to myself... #GameReview #CRPG #RETROGAMING
"Game dev is one of those jobs you only do when you really want to. It's not going to make your parents proud, you're unlikely to get rich in an industry that lays off people for making superhits, and its a demanding & confrontative job. Why would you let a machine do the thing you're here to do?"
I spent the last few months talking to over 30 game developers about generative AI. It began as a sort of interview survey but became a pretty comprehensive collection of arguments against the technology altogether. www.gamesradar.com/games/why-so...
added some initial terrain variation for the ages, potential here for flavor-building
