An important meeting with Newham Council's housing and homelessness team in Stratford to see the work they are doing and their plan to address Newham's housing backlog. Everyone deserves safe and secure housing, and I will keep working with the Council until that is the case.

I am deeply saddened by the horrific attack at Berlin Pride. Pride has always been about love, freedom and the right to live openly. Hatred and violence will never overcome that. Sending love and solidarity to those affected and to the wider LGBT+ community, including here in Stratford and Bow.

Following my questions last week, this time, I asked the Foreign Secretary directly about the arbitrary detention of Dr Hussam Abu Safiya - held in Israeli prison for 18 months without charge. In violation of International law. Medical and aid workers must be protected.
