I was born mid way through the last century and raised in Montreal. After a misspent youth playing soldier (reserve), pouring over comics, reading sci-fi novels, listening to the Beatles, Stones, & watching Laugh In, I ran away to the circus, er, military.

Another August long weekend over. Friday was nice, Saturday the weather turned not so nice and people started to go home. Sunday it rained and the rest of the "happy campers" went home and Monday the weather was perfect, typical. It looks like Mother Nature had another laugh at us mere mortals.

Since it wasn't hot enough outside to melt lead, I actually some chores done. The grass is cut, the utility trailer is loaded for a dump run, and I repaired a Jerry can. At 72, I miss the days when I could put in a full day and not feel all wrung out like a used dish rag. Golden years my ass.

This morning I scanned the obits looking for DonOLD's name, as I usually do every day, only to find Lindsay Graham had passed away. Normally I stand behind the adage to never speak ill of the dead, but in his case I'll make an exception. If there is a God, I hope he is burning in hell.

This will be a good thing, if it happens. Right now roughly 80% of the oil Ontario and Quebec use is transported via Line 5. The problem is that Line 5 goes through the USA and can be shut down by the Americans at any time This makes Canada more resilient. www.ctvnews.ca/calgary/arti...

A North American T-6 Texan AKA Harvard just flew over our home. Upon hearing and recognizing the sound of the Pratt & Whitney engine I rushed to the window to see it pass overhead. Nice... I know, I don't get out much. 🤣 But... Even though I'm in my seventies, I still look up. 🛩️
