I admit this is a take I had not considered before.
Jesus's death was so ironic. He tried to escape being a carpenter, yet in the end, carpentry was still what did him in.
Um, acktually…they’ve only had as long as they’ve been alive and able to read to read it. 🤓☝️ But, yeah, kinda wild to be complaining about spoilers in something most people are required to read in grade school.
a friend said "no spoilers!" while we were talking about The Odyssey and another friend said "you've had 2,700 years to read it"
Listened to Tuesday’s episode of Cabinet of Curiosities by @aaronmahnke.com & was thrilled it featured the story of Dana Bible & E. King Gill! You can listen to it via your podcast app or on grimandmild.com/curiosities It’s the one title “Accidental MVP” and any Aggie should give it a listen.

Did you know that, in the Mortal Kombat games, Scorpion’s iconic spear throw and “GET OVER HERE!” shout were just thought up on the fly while they were getting the character movements filmed for the first game? There’s video of this moment. Were they using AI, that likely never happens.
I hate Ai being used at any point of a production but I cannot understand why people think it sounds better to say that you only used it at the early stages of pre-production. That's the fun bit!! The ideas bit!! The creative bit!! The bit that makes your story YOURS.
Oh, they know. They are just sure that the general public doesn’t, thus they can make it sound dark & ominous. And even if it doesn’t work, making people have to pay the time & cost of legal defense is meant to scare other people into staying quiet.
Um. You would think that with an administration this soaked in meme culture that they would... know what "become ungovernable" means and how it's used? But, of course, now that they're arresting people for posting that to FB, I imagine we'll be seeing a lot more of the phrase...
Just your regular reminder: everything Trump touches gets worse. It’s like a reverse Midas touch.
Took a 20 mile bike ride this morning to check out the Reflecting Pool
And never forget: The only game the Knicks lost during the finals was the one Trump shoehorned himself into then fell asleep during.
I got nothing against the Knicks, but it’s just so fitting that they lose the moment Trump has to insert himself into the proceedings. He ruins everything he touches. Never forget that.
I’m not sure what’s funnier: Lee Greenwood & Kid Rock not being at the concert because even they could see what a shitshow it was going to be OR Both of them being such has-beens that they didn’t rate an invite.
I dunno. Seems more like he’s speaking to other right-wingers saying that this is NOT a both sides issue. Like, pre-empting others who would say “well Obama’s face was on t-shirts” by saying that’s not even in the same ballpark as this.
A classic Reason magazine writer take where he has to try to "both sides" Trump putting his face on our currency, our passports, and on giant banners all around DC by pointing out that... uh... some random people put Obama's face on some t-shirts?
And here I am, having just watched Glass Onion for the first time two days ago.
Nobody assumes the CEO of Toyota must be some sort of brilliant engineer, but we have for some reason developed this collective notion that being a successful tech CEO must make you a tech genius.
If I were a government department that has been joyfully arresting, beating, and killing people with names like “Jesus”, I might not post something like this.
I know legal scholars are supposed to stop making legal arguments and just make moral/political ones, but can I get an exception here?
I genuinely once had to do an introductory presentation on this when it opened to the public for hotel stays and was absolutely thrilled to present to a twenty-strong team a slideshow entitled "OWO: What's This?"

I’m wondering how long it will take for it to start putting “sovereign citizen” BS into these documents.
Everything is so stupid.

This is pretty cool, but I don’t know why I’m northeast of the German Antifacist Expanse.
I made a map of 3.4 million Bluesky users - see if you can find yourself! bluesky-map.theo.io I've seen some similar projects, but IMO this seems to better capture some of the fine-grained detail
Honestly, Ring has been openly sharing security cam footage with cops for years. NOT just doorbell cams, either. And without even requiring a warrant. That alone should make you ditch Ring when there are other options.

J.D. Vance was booed so badly at the Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony that even the announcers commented on it. “There is the Vice President J.D. Vance and his wife Usha—OOP, those are not… uh… those are a lot of boos for him. Whistling, jeering, some applause.”
