And many thanks for the opportunity to share the @eua.eu analysis and recommendations regarding the European Universities Initiative. Its transformative potential is huge, and it is imperative that the Initiative succeeds! Europe cannot afford for it to fail.

For International Women's Day, we asked UNIC's leaders for leadership advice and words of wisdom, as we strive together for rights, equality and empowerment. 🧵Here's how they responded (1/3) #ForAllWomenAndGirls

“Don’t be afraid to step off the beaten path. At times, you may be the first woman in a particular role. It’s essential to help others—both consciously and unconsciously—recognize that women not only can but should be in all positions. Being a role model for diverse female leadership is something I take great pride in.” - Prof Dr. Annelien Bredenoord, UNIC President

“Expertise is influential. Broad expertise will enable you to navigate complexity. Be patient, growing expertise takes time." - Senior Research Fellow Dr. Sari Hirvonen-Kantola, Co-Director of Centre for City Futures, University of Oulu

"Assume that no one is out to get you and that if you encounter a challenging individual, work to understand their perspective, see the world through their eyes, and communicate to alleviate their concerns. We have two ears and one mouth, use them in that proportion." - Dr. Jean van Sinderen Law, University College Cork

“Breaking the mold is about trusting yourself to think out of the box. Be bold, build strong relationships, and lift others as you rise." - Dr. Paola Comellas
