We were honoured to welcome staff and students from Ninohe City High School in Japan last week. The school visit us every year to follow in the footsteps of Aikitsu Tanakadate, who was born in Ninohe, studied at the University under Lord Kelvin and became one of Japan’s most renowned geophysicists 👨🎓

We’re behind the scenes for #EYADigital with our FRED machine, which analyses and processes digital files. Our collections increasingly involve digital materials; we’ve recently used the FRED and FTK to process material from the 2000s deposited from the University’s student television station, GUST.
