Many of the negative reviews for Mina the Hollower either complain about the presence of friction, or just contain straight up misinformation. People need to step out of their comfort zone and experiment with everything a game has to offer. "The game is making me adapt and try new things? Refund."
Going to the library and checking out Blu-rays has done wonders for my watchlist. Sure, instant gratification is more possible than ever, but having a deadline with physical media taking up desk space hits so much harder than clicking on a file.
It should really be commended just how effectively the tension between artistic freedom and the looming shadow of capitalism is captured on the screen in "Double Fine PsychOdyssey". Glad to hear that the studio is looking to unionize at least.
I was getting nervous that I would finally have to buy a Switch 2. Both relieved and repulsed.
Living here really does feel like scrambling to climb serpentine ladders in an effort to escape the meat circus before drowning in rising water.
Just binged all seasons of Nirvanna the Band the Show (along with the movie) in a 24hr time span. Very cozy, clever, and endearing, but now I'm left with a Canada-sized void that needs more funny boys to fill it.
Me when I try to recall the name of a survival horror game about dinosaurs in a crisis.
In the past 10 years, I've worked on feature films, won "best in show" at a film festival, edited for PBS, produced for cooking shows, but ultimately I'm left with very little to show for it. Hoping that 2026 is the year I start feeling confident enough to share my venture into stop-motion shorts.
Marty Supreme fucks. I got slapped around like a ping-pong ball.
I finally crossed Master and Commander off my watchlist. There's an alternate universe where Jack Sparrow was never a household name and we got an entire franchise based on the seafaring and somewhat queer adventures of Captain Aubrey and Stephen Maturin.
Can't fathom how I didn't notice a new Quay Brothers film was out in the world. Miniature worlds of dust and decay fleshed out via dream logic. Inspirational mix of live-action and stop motion.
Fully expected to have a fun time at most, going into There Are Monsters, but now I'm left reminiscing about making home movies with childhood friends.
A ★★★ review of There Are Monsters (2013)
The found footage genre is usually going to be fairly hit or miss for most people. On my own end, I can't help but feel a fondness fueled by nostalgia for those early filmmaking years, when gathering ...

Accidentally stumbled upon an insane double feature about girlbossing too hard. "Looking for Mr. Goodbar" (1977) and "To Die For" (1995).
Group I’m a part of hasn’t been able to get together and watch movies in a while. If you’re a film freak, invite me to your movie night!
Remember this intense scene from the highly-acclaimed film? Most people don’t know that this was REAL and the actor was ACTUALLY scared and NOT acting. The cameras turned on and he suddenly forgot that he was on a set and how to do his job. This fun fact makes the scene much more impressive now!
The new Katamari seems great so far, but it seems to lack a bit of BOUNCE??? Feels like it's easier to get stuck in places, instead of ricocheting out of tight spots when colliding with objects. big rolling ball still makes me smile tho
Genuinely grateful for this time of year when the occasional lizard will enter my apartment to stay warm. Just dumb little cuties who don't know where they are. 🦎 I hope they can at least sense a modicum of benevolence when I escort them outside.
If you haven't seen it, this Halloween I recommend watching Phantom of the Paradise. Very campy with an emotional core (in the same vein as Rocky Horror), while providing commentary on greed and exploitation in the entertainment industry.
I wouldn't think twice if you told me Hackers (1995) inspired both Deus Ex and Jet Set Radio.
OHH MY GODDDD!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!!! THIS IS TOO SCARY!!!!!
Sassy storyboard scalie… Though could also be Mewtwo.
On tonight’s episode of “Lizard From an Old Screenshot (Who Is He?)”
