I sometimes make videos: https://www.youtube.com/@valigotech And sometimes stream: https://www.twitch.tv/valigo Programmer, speedrunner, family guy, immigrant
Programming is a lot like speedrunning. You lose entire day trying to save 2 seconds, and it ruins your entire week. Maybe that's why so many speedrunners are in tech.
I've watched Backrooms today. I'm a fan of original youtube series, and I liked the movie a lot, highly recommend. I've watched it in a very shitty cinema theater, and the screen had an annoying buzz that added A LOT to the vibe. Director is 20 years old.
I see a lot of love for Fable today in my timeline. I love Mythos of Albion. I think it was its creators' magnum Opus. You are not hallucinating, it still looks absolutely stunning today. Quite a nice little game engine they had!
I made a video about exceptions, why I don't like them, and how they are abused www.youtube.com/watch?v=FHvA...
Exceptions are horrifying

Backrooms' director Kane Parsons reveals his thoughts on POSIX "If I could snap my fingers and make POSIX disappear forever, I probably would. Creatively, I get no enjoyment from using those tools." "POSIX Threads might stay though", he added.
MOTORSLICE is pretty cool. I bought it because OST is made by one of my favorite musicians of late (Pizza Hotline), but the game is quite alright on its own merit.
Kind of crazy how it is pretty much official that the world is being run by a cabal of satanic pedophiles, but then you say "hmm I think AI companies are maybe up to no good!", and people accuse you of falling for conspiracies...
My today's programming stream was 70% yapping, and it was also the most watched. My viewers are rewarding the wrong stuff 😔
My mom is an entire hour into 2025 already, so happy new year everyone!
I told my wife so I was always jealous of other kids who were rich enough to afford a whole collection of kinder surprise toys, and she gifted me this abomination today. Lmao I love her so much
My 3yo daughter is very amused by the fact that princess' name is Peach because you clearly can't eat her. She also refuses to watch anything that's not 70star because that's the category where princess speaks.
While searching for a raid target the other day I found this cool dude who streams programming straight on Amiga assembler, and he showcased his Tetrist game: www.twitch.tv/photonscx

There is no way to swap channels in pavucontrol which means I need to research Linux config files. The day is ruined.
I think my daughter's hands are big enough to handle a controller. Finally, the year 2025 will be the year of father-daughter gaming. And local ad board is full of interesting offers!
Emacs Lisp is dynamically scoped by default. Probably the worst fundamental thing about Emacs these days.
Merry Christmas🎄 and Happy Hanukkah🕎 for those of you who celebrate! I'll join the holidays in a few days!
not many gamers know, but Skyrim's famous "must've been the wind" is a reference to Jason and the Argonauts, a movie from 1963!
Can we all agree that this kind of design for pages that should be about reading source code is awful? You have huge blocks of empty space that contributes nothing, but the actual important part (THE BLOCK OF CODE THAT YOU NEED TO READ) has a freaking horizontal scrollbar? Cmon!
