I'm on an Amtrak just south of Memphis that was involved with a collision with a freight train. It's unclear what the level of damage is. No passenger injuries in the cars adjacent to me. Some medics walking through mentioned needing to find a new driver though.

Its been a hell of a year for my queerness, just coming to terms with realizing I'm nonbinary immediately after gender affirming surgery six months ago, only to be hit this week with the realization that I am in fact bisexual as well

Walking by past a driveway with a Ford truck with a big sticker that says: "Be American, Buy American"; immediately next to it in the driveway: a Volkswagen. Really makes you want to ask them how they define 'American' here.

In covering the news for this last year, one thing I noticed was that the most unified defenses of trans people was coming from attorneys general, who repeatedly joined together to oppose the Trump regime.

I know the world is falling apart but I wanted to say I just presented my final project for a science communication workshop I’ve been part of for the last few months and it went really well. I got some nice comments and great questions and I’m so glad I did it.

Just got bottom surgery part 2 Monday, so I'm spending new years recovering in a hotel with my best friend.

New hair! Decided I'd try something a bit less femme, so I went for a side shave mullet

Today marks five years since the anxious conversation with my best friend where I accepted that I was trans. I had had the epiphany three days prior, and had spent the intervening days researching transition and looking up trans experiences, trying to find a reason why I was wrong to think I was.

I had a lovely chat with @tekla.bsky.social in writing this story, and the memorial itself I found quite moving, especially seeing someone from my hometown among the people we've lost this year.
