Many artists throughout history and today, often process trauma and life experiences through their art. Tons of heavy and "problematic" stuff comes from personal events, so shaming artists for depicting those things in their art is not only stupid, but dismissive to their pain and self expression.
Take that shouldn't be hot but is: depiction ≠ endorsement. Not all art is supposed to make you feel good and safe. Depicting serious and taboo topics within art often has much deeper meaning than what the lowest common denominator will take at face value. Online purity culture is hurting art.

How do all of you other artists deal with mental paralysis when it comes to art? I draw like once or twice a year because my motivation and inhibitions are extreme. The fear of failure is real with me, I can't improve or even trust the process because I always feel like I'm making a mistake
