The speed at which AI models operate gives the impression they are efficient. They are not! Behind each of their successes hides a mountain of failures. This costs us enormous amounts of energy. Yes, AI makes its mistakes quicker, but it is by no means more efficient than any human being would be.

Unbelievable. This is insanity on so many levels! My only consolation is that I did formally object to this ridiculous and dangerous proposal when I had the chance. I hope this disaster can still be averted somehow. I wish I knew how to push back on it now that it has been approved.

Comet C/2025 F2 (SWAN) seems to be running out of steam. recent images show the comet becoming fainter despite nearing perihelion. It could still be an effect of the moon and low height but it is certain that the comet does not brighten. 🔭☄️ #CometWatch
