Got three big August priorities! 🔹I'll be exhibiting my landscape paintings at the Buckhorn Festival of the Arts, August 15-16! I'll be inside the Community Centre. 🔹Tabling at Fan Expo Toronto two weeks later, August 27-30! I'll be at booth AP16. 🔹In between all this: Kickstarter fulfilment!

This was a fascinating exercise: find out what went wrong with creativity in the games industry. The conclusion: there are too many cowards controlling too many critical levers, and until we figure out how to put people -taste, creativity, and craft- back at the top, we're going to be stuck.

I would think that there's some way to quickly let phone and internet providers know when there's a communication cable down somewhere, so they can come and clean it up... but it seems like it is literally impossible to notify Rogers via phone that one of their wires is down. What an awful service.

I wonder if I'll ever stop being annoyed at how the story in FFVII Rebirth slowly managed to build up some decent suspense despite constantly interrupting itself with minigames, only to abandon it all at the very end and turn into a Big Dumb Superhero Battle ripped straight from the worst MCU films.

Scary storm in the Kawarthas yesterday. A 100+ year old white pine with a trunk over 2 feet across came down just a metre from where I was standing. No injuries, but it still feels surreal. Before the storm hit I could hear the wind coming like a jet engine roar, just like the 2022 derecho.

These things here are emergency wreck buoys, and if you're thinking the colour scheme looks somewhat like a circus big top, just wait until you hear about the clown show that inspired their introduction.
