Payal Kapadia’s ALL WE IMAGINE AS LIGHT has won Best International Feature at the 2024 Gotham Awards. “For me, romance is a political choice,” she told me in a recent interview. “To look through the gaze of romance allows us to have a world of light. That is something worth working hard to keep.”

Just saw FLOW, Latvia’s entry for International Feature and a qualified Animated Feature for the Oscars. I’m not sure WILD ROBOT doesn’t have a formidable opponent. What an incredible film.

ALL WE IMAGINE AS LIGHT is a film that's taken root in my head: an exquisite illumination of the interior lives of three women. For @latimes.com Glenn Whipp sat down with Payal Kapadia, the film's director, and captured the excitement of her breakthrough moment. www.latimes.com/entertainmen...
