Alzheimer’s disease develops before symptoms appear, but early brain changes are not fully understood. New work from the Misha Zilberter lab shows APOE4 drives neuronal hyperexcitability in mice and identifies Nell2 as a mediator. CRISPRi KD of Nell2 normalized activity, pointing to an early target.
