Alzheimer’s disease develops before symptoms appear, but early brain changes are not fully understood. New work from the Misha Zilberter lab shows APOE4 drives neuronal hyperexcitability in mice and identifies Nell2 as a mediator. CRISPRi KD of Nell2 normalized activity, pointing to an early target.

Our paper is now online at @nataging.nature.com! Alzheimer’s disease begins decades before symptoms—but what drives those earliest changes is still not well understood. We set out to understand how APOE4 disrupts neuronal and network function across aging. 🧵: 1/15 www.nature.com/articles/s43...

To celebrate 12 years of VectorBuilder, we’re making it easier to get your next few projects off the ground! We’ve set up a ""Savings Roadmap"" that scales with your research: 1st Order: 20% OFF (Code: Thankyou1st) 2nd Order: 15% OFF 3rd Order: 10% OFF
