Yo whaddup New artist just trying her best. My goal is to get good at drawing my d&d characters. she/her

Finished with our 4th and final D&D party member, Bonnie Rivers! She's a tabaxi ranger researching an anomaly in the stars and she's a ton of fun to play with and draw.

Digital art of personal D&D character, Bonnie Rivers. She is a grey tabaxi with a blue dress with stars on it, with a brown bag over her shoulder, grey pendant on her necklace, holding a longbow and a book, with a cat shaped shield on her back. She is wearing glasses. She is standing with her head tilted to her left, holding her bow to her side and her book to her torso.

In the future, when civilization as we know it is unrecognizable from what it is now, and AI is but a notion of the past, real art will still be there in the ashes. AI could never replace real art because art is one of the most innately human things about us.

With my last post being looking back at the lessons I'd learned being an artist for one year, I'd like to make another post looking at another year of being an artist. I reached my goal of being able to draw people and I want to get better at that, especially for D&D character art stuff.

As of today, I've been an artist for a full year. To celebrate, I wanted to make a post, not focused on the progress I've made, but rather about what I did to stick with it. I've tried "getting into art" multiple times in my life and always gave up. I'd like to go over how it how it finally stuck:a🧵

A photo of the sketchbook page that I started my art journey with. The page contains multiple small doodles such as mice, symbols, handguns, takodachi, pokemon and mario characters, and other misc crude drawings of an artist just starting out.Digital art of Isabelle from Animal Crossing standing and facing to the right wearing her orange suit. This was my second attempt to make digital art of Isabelle.Digital art of a simplified version of my D&D character Gael. She is viewed from an angle slightly above her as she looks down, touching her pointer fingers, and blushing with hearts in her eyes.Digital art of Gilder Boulderscuff, one of the characters in our D&D party. He is a dwarf with dark red hair wearing a cowboy hat, metal armor with gold trim, and a green tunic with a belt. He is holding his two handed battle hammer by the end of the handle, the head of the hammer resting on the ground with his foot resting on the head of the hammer. He is facing to the left, head turned to the right with his other hand on his hip.

Finally done with my third D&D party member piece, this is Lysithea Lycester, our party's changeling (currently in their half elf form) soulknife rogue. They're a spy working for an underground rebellion against the evil Empire, and their position in the Empire creates distrust among the party.

Are there any iPad artists who can help me figure out why the colors of my Procreate art is so different when I'm drawing it compared to when I post it online? The colors of my last piece looked a lot darker when I was drawing it, and the color difference is a pattern I've been noticing.

After Art Fight, I'm fully focusing on learning to draw people, so my first piece after AF is this drawing of Gael (my D&D character) I made for a profile banner. I am so super proud of this one and surprised I was even able to do this.

Digital art of D&D player character Gael Bluethorn. She is crouched down with one hand on the ground and her sword drawn and held far outward to her right, stretching to the left side of the image.

Now that Art Fight is over, I can say I really enjoyed my first year! This year, I did 7 attacks. I was hoping to have done a few more, but life got in the way and I'm happy with the attacks I did this year, seeing people's reactions to them, and the progress I've made as an artist. See you next AF!

I have been procrastinating my art fight attacks so hard playing through Megaman Battle Network. God I wish Capcom would bring Megaman back, and not just the brief nostalgia call back to Megaman Classic. Just them realizing Megaman is a franchise people like.
