I had a chat with my dad about this car because I thought it was his that he sold back in 2013 or so. We are both fairly sure this is his exact P5. This is a shame because I've always wanted that car back, as it was one of my favourite cars he had while I was a kid. Sadly I can't afford it. 😭

The lap of Japanese luxury appears! A 1998 Nissan Primera SE 2L auto! It’s done a whopping 54,000 miles, is almost entirely free of any rust, and is mechanically excellent. We think we’ve done well with this one! I’ll make a video at some point on it. #WeirdCarBS

Rover 75 today. A common sight for any 75 veterans. Cleaning those plenums! I even managed to do the difficult one under the servo. I need to do the “spy hole” mod to the plastics at some point. Especially because they aren’t always forgiving in all weathers! #weirdcarbs #rover75

I mean, Viktor does a good job of bringing SOME kind of vibe. (Usually one that brings down property values) BUT he is a very good, comfortable workhorse and did do a towing run of the caravan successfully. The engine and gearbox seem very healthy on this car! Not bad for 120k miles.

Another instrument rescue! This is a 1984 Casiotone MT-46 in gold! After cleaning out corrosion and 40 years of grime, it works perfectly! Not bad for a £15 score! People sometimes have snobbery towards these, but they can still be fun! #casiotone #musicproduction #1980s #casio

I am now collecting lots of instruments to play with. 3 completely different implementations of MIDI control is certainly taking some learning... Hopefully things will get easier once I start syncing things up with my PowerMac G5 and the audio interface I've chosen. The hurdles of a beginner! 😆

That's #Rustival done this weekend! I am very much decompressing today. It was a lovely day and great to catch up with many of you, and hope to see those I missed next time! Viktor did well, but I'd be lying if I said he wasn't a wounded soldier after! Still some stuff to fix but looked after us.

Viktor's radio is at least working well. I had to do a hack I haven't done in a while, which is adjust the speed from the speakers! It sounds very good. I had to do the azimuth by ear, but wasn't difficult as it was almost spot on anyway! Let's hope the rest of the car repairs this well. #weirdcarbs

I started off easy by printing the gear for the Volvo tape deck; especially as someone already made an STL set for it. It took a few goes, but I got one working! 1/2

Well, I had a plan to get something else ready for Rustival, but it didn't work out. However, I am somewhat confident I have figured out the running/intermittent non-start this idiot has been having. So as long as parts arrive in time, this car may end up there after all. #weirdcarbs
