Andy Burnham says the Government 'must do more' on Palestine. Here's how he can start: End all arms sales to Israel. Ban all trade with illegal Israeli settlements. Sanction those responsible for the genocide. Palestinians need action - not just apologies.

I'm re-re-posting this significant article: "The open-source archive now contains more than 500,000 digitized photographs, identification papers, diaries, maps, films, and letters, many of which were collected directly from Palestinian families and might otherwise have been lost forever."

How Palestinians Are Building a Digital Archive That Can’t Be Erased

Distributed backups, cyber resilience, and a half-million records are preserving Palestinian history beyond any single building or border.

It really pains me that, after more than a decade of Bannon and Farage et al, there's not a more strategic approach to media on the left. Independent media is fantastic but not enough, and the sad truth now is that there's a straight line from posting to power. It's ridiculous but true.

One of the things I think got lost with Ye Olde Twitter is that, although it had a relatively small user base compared w/other social-media sites, there were lots of people there who wouldn't bump into one another anywhere else, and you didn't have to surrender yourself to algorithmic funnelling.

It’s taken a while for people in power to recognise the growing strength of the @greenparty.org.uk . But now that it’s become evident, we need to be prepared to all the possible insidious ways that the currents powers will try to discredit it.

The greatest victory of yesterday’s results is that of #Hope over #Fear. It is the proof that people in the UK haven’t given up on accepting the status quo and are prepared to stand up and take action to build a better future.

We have two dominant visions for digital tech: one from major corporations that maximizes profit at any cost, and another based on cyberlibertarian ideals that assumes you must code to participate in society. We need another: where the public sector builds and funds tech for the broad public good.

🤔You want your government to be popular? 💡Why not try doing something that's popular with the public. Most of us want to see public ownership across a range of public services. It was true at the last general election. It's true now. #publicownership
