I was put on 500mg Naproxen as a teen to manage debilitating menstrual cramps; mom was nervous bc Naproxen was what killed my grandma--not the cancer, the liver failure from the cancer pain meds. Turns out I had endo & wasn't diagnosed until my tubal at 39y.o. Had luckily stopped Naproxen @ 20y.o

And I believe (with no evidence, to be clear) that women are damaging our organs taking ibuprofen to manage symptoms that aren’t addressed or taken seriously. I have a friend who can’t take Advil now after years of self medicating for roof pain no one cared about. Her liver can’t tolerate it.

Least favorite question in a Dewey library: "where is psychology section?" "Did u want Freud in 150? Psych for Dummies which hasn't been updated since 2013??" *a siren starts going off somewhere & I start crying* "Books about mental health or disorders in 616? Neurology? The Sociopath Next Door!?"🚨😭

It has been 18 yrs since I left my coercive control abuser--I managed to get out BEFORE it got physical. But any time I see a DV abuser speak on tv, justifying himself and questioning his accuser, I still get the chill certainty of recognition in the pit of my stomach. I believe her.

*whispers* you know we can do this cultural debate about art thing all the time, right? Websites and news organizations used to have culture critics on staff whose entire job was writing about books, movies, and TV. People read them and then discussed them. We have the technology to do this again.

Hilarious that my summer SAD would finally kick in fully during one of the nicest, lowest-humidity weeks we've had since May. It's sunny and 78°, why am I missing wool socks? Why did a post abt cute Edwardian oxfords bring me to tears? Why do I want to turn down the a/c & bury myself in XXL sweats?

Everyone should read this story and see how the state of Idaho, the Trump administration, and hate groups such as ADF, SEGM, Do No Harm, and the Manhattan Institute have blood on their hands. They murdered this trans teen and her future. www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...

Idaho pushed anti-trans laws for years. Then a teen died.

The life and death of May Pollard, 16, provides a window into the tragic effect that legislation and political rhetoric have had on trans people in America.
