Delighted to share that Binding Media has won the 2026 N. Katherine Hayles Award for Criticism of Electronic Literature! So honored to received this particular award because Hayles' work taught me to think about the weird literary works I've always been interested in. @stanfordpress.bsky.social
The timing of this kind of press is intentional. How are they going to make these games when Bethesda and Obsidian collectively laid off hundreds? Don’t fall for it.
NEW: Bethesda has announced a slew of new Fallout games, including Fallout 5 and Fallout 3 + New Vegas remasters. The company also confirmed my scoop last week that it is working with Obsidian on a Fallout game. I spoke to Todd Howard about the roadmap: www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

Toward the end of this article is the most important point: assuming a change to HTTP verbs happens, the ecosystem has had twenty years of the current ones. That's major system changes across the board, from server software to client-side frameworks. www.theregister.com/devops/2026/...

There's a new minor version of Snowman fixing an issue reported by HiEv on GitHub about link parsing (github.com/videlais/sno...). No timeline on Twine rollout yet, but I'll get that going next and then an update to story format archive as well.

What's buried in this, and I've heard in other places, is a look at the use of tokens as an efficiency measurement. Starting with a base bucket of stokens per person, measuring workers based on tokens-used compared to work output. Prompt crafting. thenewstack.io/cursor-origi...
Cursor, GitLab and Zed agree GitHub is breaking. They disagree on how to rebuild it.
Cursor's Origin, GitLab's Project Switch and Zed's DeltaDB are racing to rebuild code hosting for AI agents as GitHub buckles under the load.

I'm still recovering from being sick for going on a week, so things are slow right now. I'm working through updating dependencies for most of my software projects today and will be publishing minor project (monthly) updates soon.
My helpful niece remembered how I explained that I often don't run the heat in my apartment even when it is really cold outside last year. (I do run it if the temperature is below zero degrees F.) This year, she sewed a "heating pad" for me that I can use at the computer under my wrists.
