PhD student at the University of Marburg. Translational Psychiatry. Interested in psychological resilience, risk and protective factors of mental health, and neuroimaging, via the http://www.sfb-trr393.de/. Also bread.

Long due: "Resilience Beyond Diagnosis" out as preprint! Higher resilience to depression—defined as better-than-expected mental health given cumulative risk—showed no concurrent brain differences, but prospectively predicted lower GMV in orbitofrontal cortex & temporal pole. doi.org/10.64898/202...

Resilience Beyond Diagnosis: Prospective Neural Correlates of Better-Than-Expected Outcomes in Depression

Background Resilience, the ability to adapt positively in the face of adversity, is shaped by the interplay of risk and protective factors. Previous magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies on resilie...

Last week, 130 researchers of the #SFBTRR393 & invited guests gathered at Kulturrathaus Dresden for an inspiring retreat. 4 days of sharing recent results, discussing new directions, and strengthening collaborations across sites. More & more difficult to get everyone into one photo, but we managed!

🧵 New study alert! How does 🌡️ room temperature relate to how our body reacts to 😰 psychosocial stress? We looked at everyday indoor temperature variation (17–28 °C) and measured stress markers in the body.

It's always fun to discuss resilience research, and I am happy and grateful to have received a poster award from the @biodgps-dgpa.bsky.social at #PuG2025 for my (and many collaborators!!!) work on the neural correlates of resilience.

Another day, another #PuG2025 poster awardee to be celebrated!🏅 Congratulations to Vincent Hammes who got awarded for "Beyond Diagnosis: A Longitudinal, Better-Than-Expected Approach to the Neural Correlates of Resilience". @vincenthammes.bsky.social @pug2025.bsky.social

Hi! We are the SFB/TRR 393 "Trajectories of Affective Disorders: Cognitive-Emotional Mechanisms of Symptom Change" - a transregional @dfg.de collaborative research center & interdisciplinary team of researchers working together to better understand what influences the course of affective disorders👇🏻🧵
