A marten family of four! Captured 16 June in Brechfa, this trail cam clip shows young pine martens learning to forage before going solo. They haven’t found the food yet - but one is onto the scent. These feeder boxes help track pine marten recovery across Britain. #TheNationalLotteryHeritageFund

Huge thanks to VWT’s fab #Volunteers, who are halfway through #lesserhorseshoebat counts! Each year, these bats are counted in June as they emerge from roosts to feed. The counts go to @batconservation.bsky.social’s #NationalBatMonitoringProgramme and help inform research and policy for the bats.
Exciting news… the first greater horseshoe bat pup of the season was born at the start of June at our bat reserve in Sussex — and will be flying by July. Although births are getting earlier as the climate changes, it's brilliant to see this small edge-of-range colony thriving in our southeast roost.
