Well, I was having the best stream I've ever had, at least 30 viewers, lots of talking about Ultima VII Revisited and how it came to be...and then my computer crashed. I knew that the swapfile was too small but I figured it'd be okay. It wasn't. I apologize to everyone.

One thing I've discovered doing research for my video is that Cyberpunk 2077 has pretty good object persistence...even though it kind of doesn't need it? V can carry an immense amount, and there's only one simple crafting system in the game, so hoarding isn't necessary.

Okay, I was letting other things distract me from Little Wars, but no more! I was thinking that it might be fun to let the player make their castles out of individual blocks, and allow catapults to knock around those blocks. What do you think? Fun or too juvenile?

I know I'm getting sidetracked but I'm now fascinated with pulling resources from older games and seeing what I can do with them. Here's a ship viewer from Wing Commander that I made in about four hours:

It's Monday, so it's time for my weekly reminder that I am a skilled game programmer who specializes in implementing gameplay systems, writing tools and creating user interface systems and I'd be happy to put those skills to work on your project!

I made sprites for Little Wars and I was not happy with them. I thought, "Why can't I get them to look like people from The Settlers?" And the answer is that Settlers are actually constructed from multiple layers based on what they are doing and what direction they are going.

Good morning! I am Anthony Salter, game programmer, and if you need to get stuff done, I'm your guy. I've worked on everything from indie to AAA, from small teams to huge projects. Looking for permanent or contract work in a remote setting!
