#OTD 1922 the Record Treasury within the Four Courts was destroyed. Ernie O’Malley, garrisoned inside, later wrote in The Singing Flame: 'The yard was littered with chunks of masonry and smouldering records; pieces of white paper were gyrating in the upper air like seagulls.'
