Donald Trump campaigned on lowering the cost of groceries and gas. Instead, we got an unwanted war in Iran, higher gas prices, new names for bodies of water, and recalled foods. Everything except making life more affordable. We’re tired of this, are you?

When I was a kid, I got free books through Dolly’s Imagination Library. I read this book so often the cover fell off. Steel Magnolias was (and is) one of my favorite movies. I can’t tell you what it meant to be a poor, artistic kid with Dolly to look up to. RIP Dolly; we’ll always love you

Coat of Many Colors by Dolly Parton, a book about a poor little girl whose coat is made from scraps, but so beautiful she’s very proud of it. A book about finding pride in yourself, no matter where you come from. I gotta go cry now.

Composition: arrests of people with no criminal conviction or pending charge grow fastest — from 3 arrests (1.2%) in January 2025 to 3,604 (58.2%) in July 2026. That category overtakes both others to become the largest share beginning in October 2025 (38.1%). Arrests of people with pending charges rise from 93 (37.7%) to 1,592, but their share falls to 25.7%. Arrests of convicted criminals also rise in raw number — 151 to 1,002 — yet their share drops steadily from 61.1% to 16.2%, so the declining blue line reflects a shrinking proportion, not fewer arrests.

For 287(g)-related arrests, the split has gotten even worse! In July, only 16% of program arrests were for people with an existing conviction, and about 26% had pending charges. A whopping 58% of the ~6,200 arrests made by ICE's 287(g) partners last month were for people with no criminal record.
