to summarise i think project m/+ is like "what if we combined melee and brawl and reworked a few characters" whereas hdr is like "what if we combined absolutely everything from every smash game and none of the characters work like how you'd expect. little mac has electrics now."
im probably a massive hypocrite for loving p+ while thinking hdr is some utter nonsense fanfiction but i guess project m/+ has earned it partially on account of being the first one of those. that and a lot of the changes feel like they had much more thought put into them lol
