Got a pickup list for an audiobook I submitted files for a short while ago. It listed TWO pickups. TWO! I'm flabbergasted, even though I did a round of my own proofing and caught several errors...I never would've dreamt that the files contained so few other errors! Is this some kind of record...?!?

Learned a TON of stuff Saturday at the 2026 PANAcon conference and got to hang a bit with too many uber-talented audiobook narrators to tag here. Thanks so much to PANA for putting on this amazing event, and especial thanks to all the PANA volunteers who ran everything so smoothly! #PANAcon2026
This evening (roughly at 4:33 PT/7:33 MT), I'll be reading a cute little slice-of-life snippet from the novella _Nine Goblins_ by T. Kingfisher for the PANAcon Virtual Narrator Showcase! To watch/listen live this evening, search YouTube for "PanaconConference" to find the channel.
Thrilled to announce that I'll be narrating a short slice-of-life piece of comedic fantasy for the PANAcon Showcase on Wednesday, July 22! My scheduled time slot is 4:33 PM PT/7:33 PM ET, but by all means tune in to the whole thing! I'm deeply honored to be included in this group.
I both had an absolute blast and learned a ton of great stuff from the @georgethetech.bsky.social workshop with @jessebickford.bsky.social last Tuesday evening. Everyone who read was terrific! So many great tidbits to keep in mind in my future auditions and reads!
Any other actors approach accents & dialects using the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), translating the accent/dialect into specific sounds? I'm curious if other actors (voice and otherwise) were taught this method, and, if so, do you still use it, or have you found another method?
Hmmmmm...which Ray Porter-narrated audiobook should be my next listen? I'm kinda leaning toward _God's Junk Drawer_ because, y'know, DINOSAURS...but I've been hearing so many phenomenal things about _Project Hail Mary_ that I am developing FOMO! Which would you choose?
Mix together aspects of "The X-men," "The Legend of Vox Machina," "Alita: Battle Angel," "Iron Man," "Star Wars," cyberpunk, and "Avatar" and you get _Stellar Origins_ by Nick Hershey, which I had the distinct honor of narrating! Sci-fi fans will definitely want to listen to this one!
Preparing to, uh, start preparing a public-domain classic collection of mystery stories for audiobook production!
Thrilled to have been able to tackle an Edgar Allen Poe essay for the "A Kaleidoscope of American Storytelling" anthology & podcast of the same name (available via Amazon Music)! Thanks to John Hopkinson for inviting me to participate and to Refuge Falls Media for producing this amazing series!
Exciting news! Please be sure to tune in!

My wife and I had an AMAZING time with owls at the @tracyaviary.bsky.social in Salt Lake City this last weekend! We are SO grateful to the staff at the aviary for granting us this wish and introducing us to their barn owl, burrowing owl, and African giant eagle owl.
Currently reading a really interesting piece of historical fiction (not my usual genre) written by a local author. It is deeply atmospheric and evocative and I'm really digging its groove! Might narrating an audiobook of this be in my future? Manifesting...

The newest additions to the household have arrived! Meet Biggie (short-haired) and Smalls (long-haired). Thank you so much to RSQ Utah for these amazing fur-children—we are in love!!
I had a thought-provoking blast as a guest on the "Comedians in Elevators" podcast (produced by Custom Comedy Corp)! Really interesting questions about the philosophies of comedy. Please go have a watch on YouTube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=qxUy...

I love this quote, and I love the positivity, but there's a contrarian part of my brain that revels in saying things such as "Oh yeah? Try flapping your arms and flying to the Moon!" 😅
So honored to be a part of this amazing cast and crew! I had an absolute blast narrating Edgar Allen Poe's essay "Maelzel's Chess Player" for this anthology. Please go have a listen to this and all the other volumes in this series—seriously, it's all amazing!
To all my friends and colleagues heading off to VO Atlanta: travel safe, have a frabjuous time, learn a ton, make new friends, and come home rarin' to go! Can't wait to hear all about it!

A little late to the party, but I'm thrilled, honored, and proud to be added to the Enchantress Bookish Brilliance Narrator Roster alongside so many fantastic narrators! Looking forward to making audiobook magic and bringing amazing stories to life! Thank you so much Viviana Izzo!
Had a wonderful time as a fly on the wall for today's Audiobook Narrators Assemble on Clubhouse, created and hosted by the inimitable Ana Clements and featuring the inspirational Katie Flamman. Took a break from narrating just to listen in! Thanks for a fantastic hour to all involved!
Do clones have rights? What is the nature of "art"? What is the price of having a perfect memory? Who pays the price when alien cultures collide? I'm thrilled to announce that the audiobook of _Punktown_, which I had the privilege of narrating, is now available via Audible!
Graphic from a wonderful new audiobook-related t-shirt I got from AppleStreetWear on Etsy.
Gave a very-well-received talk last night on mass extinctions! I admit I was a little worried because the topic isn't exactly the most upbeat one, but I think I threw in enough humor. Thanks so much to the CFA and Voyager Wealth Advisors for inviting me to be a part of this season's lecture series!
Currently listening to the audiobook of _Katabasis_ by R.F. Kuang, narrated beautifully by Morag Sims with interludes by Will Watt. I love listening to audiobooks and learning from their narrators...but it's often hard to pay attention to the narration because I get so caught up in the story! 😅
Deep into the mastering process on my next audiobook: _Punktown_ by Jeffrey Thomas. I am in love with the stories in this book—enthralling and philosophical. Can't wait for this to be out in the wild!
Something to keep in mind for when you get those instances of impostor syndrome.
THANK YOU to all my VO friends & colleagues that have helped make 2025 amazing! And especial thanks to Steven Smith, Scott Johni, Nick Hershey, Jeffrey Thomas, and John Hopkinson for giving me the opportunity to bring some amazing books and stories to life! May everyone's 2026 be bright & wonderful.
