BREAKING: Two trains have collided at Bekasi Timur Station in Indonesia. Local reports say a KRL commuter service was struck by an intercity train on the same line, causing significant damage to carriages and major disruption to services. Details on casualties still being confirmed.

Biodegradable PLA sandbags are being used in northern China to stabilise deserts. Filled with sand and laid in grids, they break wind and trap moisture so plants can take hold. Grasses and shrubs are introduced, sometimes crops, while the bags slowly degrade.

Heavy rain hit Qinzhou, China, lasting ~12 hours and triggering severe flooding. Up to 362.2mm fell, the heaviest in nearly a decade. A red warning was issued as roads, vehicles and underground garages were flooded. Residents were told to stay indoors, with some schools closed.
