Shit, I shouldn't have checked Minecraft mods. The Minecraft mood is coming back

. o O ( Media where people send smaller dragons after their enemies like falconers
It may look like a gryphon for now, but soon you will see how it's a wyvern
The recent test drawing was a big help because it made me realize that plopping a canine head onto the wyvern didn't work. So now the head is this. More stylized and a trickier angle
I'm completely outside of my usual workflow with this :neofox_googly_woozy:
We're in the process of finding a new home for my deceased grandma's dog and one thing that has become clear is that the vast majority of dog owners live in an alternative reality where you need no money and time to take care of a pet and don't understand why we won't just keep it.
I'm going to try lots of new things with my drawing. For instance, I've used RGB/16 for the longest time, but there's also a LAB/16 color space. I know from web dev that LAB is designed for perception, unlike RGB. I'm curious about the difference for my art
I have fulfilled my mandatory overtime quota (to make up for less hours we had to work a few years ago). I'm free :areonNCute:
> Der Langenscheidt-Verlag hat die Top 10 zum Jugendwort des Jahres 2026 veröffentlicht. Eigentlich wäre „Mehrzweckeier“ dabei – wurde aber wieder gestrichen Feiglinge
My first wyvern character used to have backward-pointing ears, and I tried the same with my feathered wyvern, but I just can't. I like the aesthetics of upward-pointing triangle ears too much
Annoying effect of AI in our company: Random people/departments keep making it build apps and scripts with languages and idioms most of us aren't familiar with, and then ask us to integrate them into our systems
My art project before the break has been a feathered wyvern. That hasn't changed, but I now have a slightly different goal. I think I got shading down quite well, but my color patterns are still pretty simple. So I'll learn how to use colors with more variation and detail
My hyperfixation on making an SSG has been satisfied, I'm going back to art
I just saw the current price of the 4tb SSD I bought last year for 280€. 1.179€. :neofox_googly_shocked:
I'm basically done porting my website over to Corvos (my SSG), so I can finally make fair comparisons with others. Build time went from 170s down to 100s despite actually generating images with an additional format.
I'm currently working on a Static Site Generator for Deno named Corvos. I wanted to see if I'm able to create something that's entirely type-safe from start to finish, and after some initial struggle I got a really nice system!
I threw this together for a friend real quick, but I'm sure others will find it helpful :> Behold, a very unscientific tutorial on how I draw bird wings
Birb wyvern emblem :areonVCute: (+ regular wyvern emblem for comparison)
It's hard to resist showing WIPs of my art, but I often feel it takes away from the impact when I show the final version :areonNFlat:
Figuring out the feather shading is tricky. As usual, the point isn't to draw every single feather. I could do that, but it would look like shit. The real difficulty is finding a solution that works with the rest of the art style
