Security guarantees that only exist on paper are worthless. Europe must show that it is ready to protect peace. With European soldiers standing shoulder to shoulder with their Ukrainian colleagues, to keep Russia from ever invading again.

In 1994 Ukraine gave away its nuclear weapons in exchange for guarantees from the USA and Russia. 20 years later, the Russians invaded and annexed Crimea. Another 8 years later, they returned in a full-scale invasion.
We have to ensure that Ukraine is strong in the present moment. This requires concrete action: establishing a no‑fly zone over Western Ukraine, transferring the €300 billion in frozen Russian assets, and setting Ukraine on the path toward EU membership by 2030.
At the same time, it is important for Ukraine to know what comes after a potential truce: the reconstruction, and guarantees of lasting peace. Before we turn to discussions about Ukraine’s future, Kyiv must have a clear understanding of the support it can count on from Europe and the US.
Last edit: When the USA bows, Putin bombs While Trump was rolling out the red carpet for Putin, Ukranian civilians were suffering under the largest airstrike of the war Only when Putin understands that he will gain nothing through war and terror will Ukraine and Europe truly be at peace
Last night, Russia sent drones into Polish airspace. They were shot down. We see a pattern: the hack of Von Der Leyen's plane, the attack on the EU embassy in Kyiv, and now drones invade EU airspace. The longer we wait without acting the higher the costs becomes.
Six months ago, Volt called for a no-fly zone in Western Ukraine to intercept Russian air attacks close to NATO airspace that endanger civilians. Last night's incident shows exactly why this is needed.
