Millions of dollars have been raised on both sides of the aisle for campaigns in the voter approved new districts. Shutting down their campaigns is very attractive to candidates because they get to control the donation money. If there's no new districts, I'm returning 100% of my donations.

Absolute shame on every Democratic politician sending out emails & texts begging for donations in the wake of the Virginia Supreme Court decision, instead of actually fighting back. We will not let Jim Crow return to the South.

this is the closest I've ever come to actually suggesting a "one neat trick" suggestion for anything, but I'm so serious here. the Virginia Constitution gives the legislature the power to set retirement ages for judges "REGARDLESS OF THE TERM TO WHICH ELECTED OR APPOINTED." make it 54 right now.

My statement on today's Supreme Court decision on Virginia's voter approved Redistricting Referendum.

There is no clearer case for the necessity of Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act of 1965 than how quickly southern states moved to eliminate Black-majority districts and dilute Black power after SCOTUS eroded Section 2. SCOTUS’s reasoning was immediately disproven by reality.

Do not accept the descent into darkness. The people voted for new districts. Our Democracy is at stake.

🚨BREAKING: In a 4-3 ruling, the Virginia Supreme Court has OVERTURNED the redistricting referendum approved by voters last month. The court ruled the General Assembly violated the Virginia Constitution in advancing the amendment, nullifying the referendum entirely.
