Nicodamus mainae (I think) One of the Red and Black spiders, this guy really stood out against the sandy soil of Wandoo National Park. Although bright red in colour, these spiders are not as venomous as some of their Aussie cousins 🕷️ #ausinverts #spiders #arachnids #wildoz #inaturlalist

Setocoris sp. - Sundew Bug (I think) These tiny plant bugs are often found in association with carnivorous sundews (Drosera sp.), where they steal the sundew’s food. This bug was on a Stylidium, rather than a Drosera, which made it much easier to spot. #ausinverts #wildoz #inaturalist #Hemiptera

The male Peacock jumping spiders are just so outrageous! This one was in Perth WA, Maratus hortorum, named after my friends Fred and Jean Hort.

Tiny jumping spider looking up to the top of the photo whilst temporarily sitting on a green leaf. It has very white fluffy palps, a dark head with orange/rust sparse hairs and a crazy blue with red/black and green "Tribal" type markings.

A focus on the abdomen of the jumping spider. It is covered with bright scales and in the centre there is an oval of black with two blue dots. The back shows an optical illusion where it looks like it has a second blob towards its rear end, but it is actually green and a trick generated by my flash has turned it black. Radiating from the blobs are bright red lines and all is set on a metallic blue background. The spider is probably only about 5mm.
